VT MÄK is a leader in producing software tools for distributed simulation. We create tools and toolkits for distributed simulations, develop PC-based military tactical trainers, craft custom solutions, and research and develop the latest simulation technologies.

We are rapidly growing our engineering and operations staff. We have a talented collection of developers, drawn from many disciplines with degrees in EE, Mech. E., Chem. E., Aero/Astro, Physics as well as CS. What we have in common is the interest and desire to build sophisticated models and simulations of the real physical world in real time. We are seeking to fill a number of different positions including:

Controller, Junior C++ Software Engineer, Services & Solutions Engineer, and C++ Software Engineer.

Controller

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a vibrant, profitable software products and services company as the Controller. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will be responsible for directing and managing all aspects of accounting operations and financial reporting, managing a small staff, and will drive improvements in the accounting and finance infrastructure.

Professional Qualifications:
The Controller must be an accomplished professional with excellent technical, communications and interpersonal skills. It is anticipated that the successful candidate with have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 10 years of relevant experience, with independent responsibility for and demonstrated success in:

  • General accounting, financial statement preparation, corporate reporting, GAAP, and managing audits, preferably with exposure to domestic and international sales
  • Providing operational and management support in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Design, implementation, and upgrade of business and accounting systems and processes
  • Supporting the budgeting and forecasting processes, and providing useful related analyses
  • Effectively managing all areas of accounting operations

Additional required qualifications:

  • Proven ability to manage, motivate and develop staff
  • Development and implementation of policies and procedures, with a strong focus on controls
  • A working knowledge of SOP 97-2 in a complex software environment
  • Experience dealing with various contractual agreements with both customers and vendors
  • Excellent software skills
  • Experience working with corporate taxes
  • Strong analytical abilities

  • Previous experience as an auditor is preferred

Junior C++ Software Engineer

This is a software development position, helping us design, build, and maintain our distributed simulation software tools. This role requires understanding client requirements, designing and implementing product or project features, and providing support to our clients. In addition, our developers often represent us at client or partner sites, standards organizations, and conferences.

Qualifications:

  • Strong C++ skills, with 2+ years experience
  • Strong object-oriented design skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s+ degree in Computer Science or equivalent

Background in one or more of the following is a plus:

  • HLA (High Level Architecture) or similar networking architectures
  • System architecture for distributed games or military simulations
  • Interacting with customers
  • Real-time or event-based simulation
  • Vehicle dynamics or physics-based simulation
  • Applied artificial intelligence
  • Design and support of commercial C++ Software Development Kits
  • Qt-based GUI development
  • Defense contractor or military experience

Services & Solutions Engineer

This is a software development position integrating our distributed simulation software with 3rd party content to create and support training and operational systems for our worldwide clients. Working under the guidance of a senior solution architect, this position will require an understanding of customer requirements, an ability to help define appropriate solutions, and technical skills to implement the solutions. Applicants must be prepared to represent the company at customer sites, conferences, meetings, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Strong C++ skills, with 5+ years professional programming experience
  • Strong object-oriented design skills
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel 25-50% of the time
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Background in one or more of the following is a plus:

  • HLA (High Level Architecture), DIS, or similar networking architectures
  • System architecture for distributed games or military simulations
  • Interacting with customers
  • Real-time or event-based simulation
  • Real-time operational systems
  • Usage of commercial C++ Software Development Kits
  • Defense contractor or military experience

Ability to obtain a security clearance is required.




C++ Software Engineer

This is a software development position, helping us design, build, and maintain our distributed simulation software tools. The person fulfilling this position will be involved in understanding client requirements, designing and implementing product or project features, and supporting clients. In addition, our developers often represent us at client or partner sites, standards organizations, and conferences.

Background in one or more of the following is a plus:

  • HLA (High Level Architecture) or similar networking architectures
  • System architecture for distributed games or military simulations
  • Interacting with customers
  • Real-time or event-based simulation
