From Oxfordshire to Oslo: Connecting the MAK Ecosystem Across Europe at MAK ONE User Groups, hosted by ST Engineering Antycip
by Steve Peart, International Sales
Last week, our sister company and exclusive European distributor, ST Engineering Antycip, hosted two MAK ONE User’s Group sessions, bringing together simulation professionals across Europe—one user group in Oxfordshire, England, and the other in Oslo, Norway. The conferences welcomed systems integrators, research developers, and industry experts, all eager to connect, share insights, and explore the latest in modeling and simulation training solutions. I was honored to attend such productive events that fostered collaboration and knowledge-sharing among our community of MAK ONE software users in the UK and Nordic areas!
Both conferences opened with presentations by the UK RAF Modeling & Simulation Training office (Air) that created a platform, known as Gladiator, that supports multiple complex training scenarios, simultaneously and independently of each other. The UK RAF demonstrated how the MAK ONE ecosystem works in conjunction with commercial-off-the-shelf solutions and industry systems integrator technologies.
Jim Kogler kicked off the event by presenting the MAK ONE 2025 Roadmap. Next, various partners and customers presented how they've built upon the MAK ONE ecosystem to deliver cutting simulation and training applications to their customers. We heard from:
- CogSim: Specializes in simulation solutions that improve training effectiveness and decision-making processes in complex environments.
- DiSTI: Provides tools for HMI applications for developing instrumentation and symbology, enabling real-time collaboration, and enhancing detailed digital instruments training experiences.
- RT Dynamics: Focuses on developing physics dynamic simulation environments for Fixed-Wing and Rotor-Wing real-time data analysis, improving operational agility in air simulations.
- Cervus Defence: Works on defense technology solutions, likely integrating simulation with defense systems to enhance training and operational readiness.
Together, these partners and players in the MAK Ecosystem presented capabilities that enhance the MAK ONE offerings by expanding the functional scope of simulations, improving realism, and enabling better interoperability for users in the defense and aerospace sectors. This collaboration helps create comprehensive training solutions that cater to the complex and evolving needs of modern military and defense operations.
Overall, both conferences created a sense of community and engagement within the simulation industry, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and networking among professionals in the field. I was honored to be part of such events! A big thank you to ST Engineering Antycip for continually pulling off such meaningful, well-excuted, and valuable MAK User Group events!
We also got to say our goodbyes to long-time Antycip CEO, Michel Pronier, who has held this position since 1998 and will now enter a new position as “retired from the business." Mr. Pronier has been a true industry leader, great CEO, and good friend to many....you will be missed, Michel!
